Then the skip sheeting has to be inspected, rotten boards have to be replaced, and any loose nails have to be driven back in. Once those steps are completed the entire home needs to be sheathed with sheets of OSB or plywood. It is not until these steps are done that a roofer can begin to install a new composite roof.

As you can probably understand now there is a lot of labor and lot of materials that go into a cedar roof conversion. Conversions are more complicated than a straight composite to composite re-roof.
